Just Yesterday Tiger Woods Poster
Regular price $20.00
In 1997, Tiger Woods became the first African American to win the prestigious Masters tournament, held every year at the prestigious Augusta National Golf Club. But though Woods won the Masters at Augusta in 1997, it wasn’t until 1990, just seven years earlier, that Black golfers like Tiger Woods could be actual members of the club. Because until 1990, Augusta National was for whites only. In 1990, Augusta admitted Ron Townsend as its first Black member. And it wouldn’t be until 2012 that Augusta admitted its first Black female member: former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
